The Adams County Democratic Committee Annual Fall Dinner was held at in the Gettysburg Hotel Ballroom.
Our annual "Heroes Among Us" award was presented to Major General Gerald Sajer of East Berlin. Introducing the General were Mark Berg and Congressman, Joe Sestek. A letter of commendation was received from Arlen Spector.

July 6, 2009 - Congressman Sestak, an announced Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate,
scheduled a "meet and greet" on Monday, July 6 at the Ragged Edge in Gettysburg. The event was very well attended. He took questions from the crowd and issues of health care reform were particularly prominent. See Photos

SENATOR ARLEN SPECTER VISITS ADAMS COUNTY
Arlen Specter visted Gettysburg:
July 1, 2009 - Sen. Arlen Specter, met with members of the Adams County Democratic Committee (ACDC) and members of the Gettysburg Area Democracy for America (GADFA) at Gettysburg College. The senator, who recently changed his party affiliation from Republican to Democrat, visited Adams County as part of his latest campaign for re-election. The question and answer session lasted over an hour and was a spirited discussion. See Photos

June 27, 2009 - Democratic Club Family Picnic was held at he Catholic War Veterans Pavilion in Bonneauville. Several candidates were in attendance and spoke to the crowd.
- Judge Jack A. Panella, Supreme Court
- Kristin Rice, who is running for Judge of the Adams County Court of Common Pleas
- Terry Adamik, County Treasurer. Terry is running for County Treasurer as an Incumbent.

October 24, 2008 - The Adams County Democratic Committee Annual Dinner was a great success. Our special Guest Speaker was Governor Martin O'Malley of the State of Maryland who gave a rousing speach about the upcoming election. Our Silent Auction of Political Paraphernalia was great fun and netted a handsome sum. Our 2008 Year in Review slide show was a big hit. Ruthe Craley, our honoree, was joined by many family and friends in celebration. Thanks to our Ways and Means committee and especially Susan Knight for a great evening.

Littlestown Office Grand Opening
The Democratic Party of Adams County openede it's third campaign office in the county in Littlestown.
October 1, 2008 - The office is located on the main square at 1 West King St. Our grand opening event was held Wednesday, October 1st at 6:30. Attended by: Bruce Tushingham, Candidate for State Senate, Roger Lund, Chair of the Adams County Democratic Party, and John Palinsky, field organizer for the Barack Obama campaign and Derf Maitland Southeastern Adams district team leader.

September 24, 2008 - Congressional candidate Phil Avillo, guests from Barack Obama’s Pennsylvania campaign, and General Gerald Sajer spoke at a rally of veterans and Iraq and Afghanistan War family members. They discussed how veterans are treated when they return to the United States. Held at O'Rorke's Pub, 44 Steinwehr Ave., Gettysburg, PA.

September 13, 2008 - The Run for State Senate began at Gettysburg College and ended at New Oxford Square. The run was followed by a picnic at the candidate's home. The music was great!

August 31, 2008 - A parade of decorated boats circled Lake Meade featuring our candidates, Avillo, Clifford and Tushingham. We advertised the Lake Meade Town Hall

August 28, 2008 Area Democrats came to the Gettysburg Hilton Garden Inn to attend a Convention Watch Party. The event was hosted by the Adams County Young Democrats in conjunction with John Palinksi, the Adams County field manager for Obama's Campaign for Change.

The Convention

August 28, 2008 Three people from Adams County were at the Democratic National Convention in an official capacity. Patricia Manning of Hamilton Township was elected as a delegate representing Barack Obama last April. Roger Lund represented New Oxford and was appointed by the Obama campaign and Governor Ed Rendell as an at-large alternate delegate. Finally, Cory Waldren, a Gettysburg College junior, was chosen by Gov. Rendell to be a page during the convention.
